Task: Execute On-Boarding Of Resources
The objective of this task is to on-board the resources in Capgemini ‘s way of working, any specific way of working in the teams and for this particular Client’s contract.
Relationships
Main Description

All resources that have not worked before in the teams that will execute the services need on-boarding to some extent. Some resources need to receive on-boarding to Capgemini's way of working. Some resources need on-boarding to the specific way of working in the team that they will join. On-boarding may also be needed on the use of specific administrative tools like the applicable time registration system.

Resources originating from outside Capgemini will need to attend the standard company induction on-boarding process and related self-study and training. This may differ per country and per situation. Staff that will transfer from the Client, the incumbent(s) and/or third party(s) might need a special training program for this.

Resources originating from outside Capgemini, other business units or other teams within Capgemini will need to attend the standard business unit or team induction on-boarding process and related self-study and training. This may include typical ‘industrialized ways of working’, adherence to typical processes and procedures and the use of specific tools. Examples are trainings on how to work with clients, how to ensure client satisfaction, how to work with local and right shore resources, how to log executed actions in the tools like the ticketing tool, how to register hours worked per task.

All resources in all teams sign non-disclosure agreements and confidentiality agreements during the on-boarding process, as applicable.

All resources in all teams will also need client-specific engagement related training. This type of training is delivered through all the other work streams in the method as applicable. Although the Knowledge Exchange work stream is definitely the main stream to train the resources, and is often the stream in which the training sessions are organized, it is certainly not the only stream for this.

Examples:

  • The Knowledge Exchange work stream takes care of the handover of knowledge of the Incumbent’s resources about the Client specific applications to our resources and of the training on any non-Capgemini-standard tools to use
  • The Service Engagement Initiation work stream will inform the resources about the Client’s organization and business, the scope and nature of the services to deliver, specific contract commitments and the service delivery governance
  • The Information Security And Compliance work stream will specifically train the resources on all the security and compliance aspects of the engagement
  • The Finance And Contracts work stream trains the resources regarding the agreed Operational Level Agreements with services suppliers that play a role in the service delivery, either as a subcontractor to the Client or to Capgemini.

The status of the on-boarding activities is tracked per resource in the On-boarding Tracker artifact.
